Best find yet... For our future baller!!

The thrift stores here in Mississauga are so awesome! I walked out with this hoop and 5 books for Grant for only $14.99

I'm a little giddy about it. Maybe it's partly because this is one of our favorite sports and I want my Grant to like it too! I look at toys so differently now that I'm a parent! They are sooo much more exciting! I want Grant to be happy and entertained, but also to start developing his talents from a young age. I basically want the best for him... Aw. I love being a mom!

Such a small world- these are friends of Robbie's good friend, Victor Polanco. They are from the Dominican Republic. I randomly met them at the Women's Broadcast. What a treat!

Sad day. Dad was gone, we were going upstairs for bedtime, and Grant fell while halfway up.
I'm kicking myself for going ahead of him up to his room. I wasn't paranoid because he had been doing so well on stairs... but yeah. It happened. Now I'm ultra careful. His bump looked way worse in person.

Bread baking day!

It isn't ONLY because I have more time than money, but that is definitely one good reason for making homemade bread each week! YUUUUMMMM...

Funny story- at the library this particular day, Grant kept walking up to strangers with his 'high five!" He got the shaft like three times in a row, which broke my heart. Either the people just didn't see him or didn't realize what he was doing.

Park by the Lakeside

Came back from Utah and needed some cheering up (I was a little homesick) so we found an awesome park by our beautiful Lake Ontario. Grant really loved it. It makes me happy when he is happy.

Such a beautiful wedding for an amazing couple, Logan and Kim McLeod. They had a reception the night before they were sealed in the Salt Lake City temple.

October Conference weekend 2015

I am so grateful for the semi-annual opportunity to listen to God's chosen prophets and apostles. They have prepared inspired messages specifically for us in this time of the world. Their messages this past conference have been particularly uplifting and instructive. As we re-listen to a talk each morning during breakfast as a family, our family is reminded of ways to keep us safe and happy in these troubled times. I owe my happiness to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ... as well as to the dear family of mine that I get the chance to be with forever.

These aren't in order because I uploaded them onto my blogger app from my phone... and didn't realize I couldn't change them here on the computer. Oh well. I still like them.

FIFA women's World Cup Canada vs New Zealand

The night before driving down south away from Edmonton forever (jokes, just for now...) Robbie spontaneously planned a family date to the once in a lifetime FIFA World Cup game! It was a rain-delayed, 0-0 (but captivating) game and we had a ton of fun!

We had African drummers in front of us making a racket... it made the atmosphere that much more exciting as well as kept Grant pretty entertained!

Thanksgiving Monday

So I can't get a straight answer from my husband or other Canadians for that matter... What day is Thanksgiving in Canada? To them it's just a long weekend. I think it's Monday?? But we do the turkey on Sunday, as it's a stay at home evening after church and seems to work best. It just means we get a great free from school Monday and it being a holiday, nothing else is planned usually.  In Toronto area, there are tons of pumpkin patches, apple and strawberry farms, etc. with family friendly activities! We checked out Chudleigh's Apple farm today and loved it! Everyone and their dog (literally) decided to come out for the event. We found out once talking to people that this is a common Thanksgiving Monday tradition. Some people have raised their kids on this Thanksgiving outing, and honestly, I can see why!
