Probably the LAST person to figure this out!

Did you know you can blog off your phone?? It's the blogger app!! Wow life just got awesome when Sharalee told me that! I treat my blog like our family journal, and my phone is much more handy than the computer! I love that I can upload pics and briefly write my thoughts just using my iPhone!
I'm prob the last to figure this out but just incase I'm not...
Blogging just got much easier!!!

Zoo Day!

This past week has been a bit stressful with lots of decisions.
We decided to go to University of Toronto for Robbie to attend med school, as he mentioned earlier... and although it is the right decision, it definitely wasn't the easy/convenient one. It's a great thing there are only 3 of us in this family so far because moving across the country is hard enough! I guess we make it harder because we are both kinda cheap... PODS was twice as much as professional movers!! Wahoo! So that means we will pay 1/2 the price for people to load up our stuff for us and store it for 2 months- SWEEEEEEET! Hours went into that decision..... Anyway, once we got the details figured out of our moving, finding new renters, putting up lots of stuff on kijiji, dejunking, looking at LOTS of housing options in Mississauga(still haven't found one), planning the summer, and some packing, we decided to take Robbie's day off at the ZOO! A much needed break!! (We haven't been to the Edmonton Valley Zoo yet! Not the most impressive one I've been to, but we didn't care!!)
Such a nice day!!

Grant wasn't quite into it yet! There is still time!

I wore the right purse for this day out :) This cheetah was sooo furry. The highschool kids near us kept saying they wanted to cuddle that furry cheetah! hehehe

You can't see it well, but that's a Siberian Tiger! And I mean the one in the background... ha!

Robbie's big news...

After years of trying to get into medical school, I finally got accepted. We are headed to University of Toronto (actually a suburb called Mississauga) for at least the next four years. We feel so happy and grateful. After not getting in for the past two years, I decided to apply one more time. In hopes of still reaching my dream of becoming a doctor without having to retake the NEW MCAT, I made sure to cast the net VERY wide. I applied to a TON of schools!!! Today as we reflected back on the past year, we decided it would be fun to look up a few stats.

In 2015 I applied to 41 schools in Canada, Australia, and the United States (14 D.O and 27 M.D, if you want to get technical).

Of those 41 schools that I applied to, I was invited to interview at 20 of them (9 D.O and 11 M.D).

Of the 20 offered interviews, I went to 14 of them (6 D.O. and 8 M.D.).

Of the 14 interviews I went to, I was offered admission into 11 schools

 6 D.O:

AT Still University SOMA (Arizona), Midwestern (Arizona), University of Northern Texas HSC (Texas), ACOM (Alabama), DMU (Iowa), WesternU(California)

5 M.D:
Texas A&M, Texas Tech in El Paso, U of Alberta, U of Toronto, U of Queensland

Thank you for everyone that has prayed for us over the years! We have received countless hours of help (the vast majority from Julie and Brian - thank you!) reading and re-writing essays. We feel that your faith and prayers have made a huge impact in us being accepted this year. We look forward to our upcoming adventure, and hope that we will have visitors.

Love, Robbie

Uncle Davey Wavey is our next visitor! How did we get so lucky??

Wow! Our second visitor this winter was my awesome 15 yr. brother, Dave. It was his spring break in April, and he practically hitch hiked his way here with some buddies of my second cousin's husband. They were coming back to Edmonton after general conference... Here are some fun photos of the trip. He was ours for 6 whole days and we loaded them full of fun memories!! We miss you, Dave!!
A warm welcome to Edmonton from Granty!

When you come to Edmonton you have to see the West Edmonton Mall... This is a seal show inside the mall!

Our favorite Vietnamese soup in the WEM (West Edmonton Mall)
"David, you get to come to scouts with me tonight, " says Robbie. "Oh and by the way, we are going to the Oilers game for scouts!!" Robbie is pretty much the best scout leader  ever!

The Oiler's newest fan, Dave!

Bubble Tea (minus the tea and plus Milk) "Give me some, Dave."

We discovered our new favorite Vietnamese food in Edmonton with Dave at Than Than Noodle House

Costco Poutine anyone? All we really did the whole trip was eat...

I only do this when we have guests... But oh is it delicious!
The theme park in WEM!! We must have done this ride 10 times in a row... the joy of no lines!

This ride reminds me of the Wild Mouse at Lagoon... a very fast and sharp turn-twisty ride
The two on the left are Naomi and Arland Hudkins... Naomi is our 2nd cousin that we recently met here in Edmonton! Her husband's buddies are the ones Dave rode up from Salt Lake with. It was so fun getting acquainted with them over breakfast on Dave's last morning here in Edmonton.
Goodbye Uncle Dave.. No tears!
